The Senior Semi Finals start this weekend and we're looking forward to a highly competitive and exciting finals series. The finals are slightly different to the regular season games so we've put together this quick guide that all captains and players should read. There is a dedicated section to Semi Finals in our By Laws which you can find here.
Game Format - Senior Finals are conducted as Two Day Games that take place on the Saturday and Sunday. The team batting first is limited to 100 overs in the first innings (which of course means the team batting second is also limited to 100 overs). A new ball is available after 80 overs.
Toss - Captains need to be available to toss 15 minutes before the scheduled start of play.
Playing Times - The games commence on Saturday at 12:30pm and terminate at 5:30pm. There will be an Afternoon Tea between 2:50pm and 3:10pm.
The games recommence on Sunday at 10:00am and terminate at 5:30pm. There will be a forty minute lunch break between 12:20pm and 1:00pm. There will be Afternoon Tea between 3:00pm and 3:20pm.
(Please note, PlayHQ can make it difficult to show all of these times so please ignore the app, and follow the times above)
Last Hour: There must be 20 overs played in the last over of play on the Sunday if the game is still in progress.
Eligibility - A player must have played in four Senior and/or Junior competition matches with his or her Club in the current season. A bye or washout constitutes a match played provided the players were listed in the team sheets on PlayHQ prior to the washout.
Umpire Fees - When there are two umpires, which will be the case, the fee is $290 per umpire per match. So each team is required to pay $290.
Ground Set-Up - Teams playing on non-turf pitches, 3rd Grade and below, need to supply three stumps and two bails each, and cones to mark the outfield.
